WASHING AND CARE ADVICE
Linen textiles should be washed at 60° C, but troublesome stains may require a higher temperature, but not higher than 80° C. Linen is a durable and hard-wearing material and best of all, a good choice for the environment. Always expect a shrinkage of around 5-7% when washing new linen for the first time.
A fine linen fabric that has been properly treated has a high, beautiful sheen and a cool and smooth surface.
Some advantages of linen products are:

1 . Soaking
Put the new linen in lukewarm water for about 20-30 minutes before washing to avoid creases, but also to contribute to more water in the washing machine. Washing a larger cloth - soak for 1-2 hours so that the fibers become really soft.
2. Detergent
We recommend colored detergents for all our textiles or detergents without bleach. Got a stain? Treat stains as soon as possible! We recommend using bile soap and linseed oil soap, which are effective and environmentally friendly, feel free to try both. Read more about stain removal a little further down.
3. Water-rich program
All new linen releases excess fibers at the beginning that need to be rinsed out in the wash. Set the washing machine to the program with the most generous amount of water.
Do not wash with the eco program as it uses little water. Add extra rinsing if possible to ensure that excess fibers are carried with the waste water. Please clean the lint filter before washing. Wash at 60° C degrees and wash the linen separately and not with other materials as it can lint excess fiber. If you have a troublesome stain that requires a higher temperature, you can increase the temperature, but never above 80° C because the linen can then decrease in elasticity, shine and strength.
4. Drying - spin and tumble dry
When centrifuging, only low speed should be used ( 400-800 ), remove the centrifugation completely if possible.
At high speeds, the fibers can be broken, causing the quality to deteriorate and more excess fibers to be created. When the washing is done, clean the door of the washing machine from any lint. We advise against tumble drying . The bath towel is the product that you can tumble dry if desired.
Drying your linen:
Hang dry the linen after washing. Natural and colored linen should not be dried in strong sunlight. Also avoid stacking wet linen textiles on top of each other, rather let them lie rolled up, damp before mangling or ironing.
5. Ironing & mangling
Stretch the damp linen after washing and hang to dry. Mangle or iron well moistened on three dots on the iron. If you have a cold mangle, mangle the linen several times to achieve maximum shine.

Washing larger linen cloths
If you wish to wash a larger canvas, we recommend that you hand it in to us. Order our laundry service here . You can also hand in your laundry directly to us in Klässbol or to our store in Stockholm. We are more than happy to help you.
If you still want to wash the cloth at home, we recommend that you check the maximum weight your washing machine can handle.
Item by the metre
If you have bought goods by the meter and are going to cover, for example, furniture, you can not wash the fabric, as an unwashed fabric resists stains better and keeps its shape longer.
Stain removal
Start treating the stain immediately! We recommend using bile soap and linseed oil soap, which are effective and environmentally friendly, feel free to try both.
Red wine stain – stains from red wine, berries or root vegetables are treated by pouring boiling water through the stain while someone rubs gently with fingers using a rubber glove or sponge.
Boiling milk is also an effective way. Boil milk, remove the pan from the stove and dip the stain in hot milk. Then let it sit and pull a little.
Blood and egg stains - treat with cold water and bile soap or linseed oil soap. We sell both linseed oil soap and bile soap with us.

Wash at 60° C and separately . Do not wash with an eco program. Extra rinsing is recommended as linen releases fibers in the first washes so that the excess goes with it into the waste water. Important to clean the filter in the door of the washing machine from any fluff. Tumble drying is recommended for best results.
